Police are on the hunt for an 18-year-old man after three schools and a library were locked down last week following reports of a person with a gun.

Toronto police responded to the area of Bloor Street West and Runnymede Road around 10 a.m. Thursday.

A student told police he had seen a man, believed to be a former student, inside Western Technical-Commercial School with a handgun.

The gunman reportedly threatened a student at the school.

Western Technical, Ursula Franklin School, The Student School, and Runnymede library were all locked down as police investigated the incident.

At least two to three dozen police cruisers were seen near the front entrance of Western Technical.

Police did “a systematic search of the building from top to bottom”to ensure the safety of students, teachers and officers.

The lockdowns were lifted several hours later and students were allowed to go home. No injuries were reported.

Police have issued a warrant for Joshua Hastings, of Toronto.

Hastings is wanted for multiple offences including unauthorized possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and uttering death threats.
