The province’s police watchdog is investigating after a 22-year-old man was seriously injured after allegedly carjacking a taxi in Toronto.
Police said around 3 a.m. Thursday, a Beck taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint near College Street and Spadina Avenue.
Soon after, officers spotted the stolen taxi near Allen Road and Sheppard Avenue West and tried to stop it.
According to police and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), there was an interaction between the man and the officers.
