2 seriously injured after driving into construction zone on Hwy. 401

Two people are in hospital with serious injuries after driving into a construction zone on Highway 401 in Milton.
Provincial police say the crash happened early Sunday morning when a minivan collided with a parked construction vehicle just west of Trafalgar Road in the westbound lanes.
Both occupants, a man and a woman, were trapped in the vehicle and had to extricated. They were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The westbound lanes were closed for several hours, but have since reopened.
