Two brothers who have been charged in the murder of a Mississauga teen have had their cases put over to the new year after appearing in court Monday.
Nicholas Mahabir will appear in court on Jan. 7, while Mark will have to wait until Jan. 9.
The body of 14-year-old Riley Driver-Martin was found in a park not far from his school on December 7 in Mississauga’s Meadow Park.
Police are not saying how he was killed but there were obvious signs of trauma to the body.
The two brothers, both 20, were arrested soon after and charged with second degree murder.
Police aren’t saying how the victim and accused knew each other.
Mark Mahabir’s lawyer David Midanik said Mahabir is “anxious” and “wants to know what’s going on.”
Midanik said he has yet to receive any preliminary disclosure and is hoping to set up a telephone conference with the judge and Crown in order to set up a bail hearing.
