Canadian Screen Awards announce special honorees

TORONTO — Late Montreal producer Kevin Tierney will be among the special honorees during the week of the Canadian Screen Awards.

The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television says it will give a posthumous Board of Directors’ Tribute to Tierney, who is known for producing the hit bilingual film “Bon Cop, Bad Cop.”

Others getting an Academy Board of Directors’ Tribute include visual researcher Elizabeth Klinck, Manitoba Film & Music head Carole Vivier, and the late producer/director Roman Bittman.

On Tuesday the academy also announced two other award recipients for Canadian Screen Week, which runs March 25 to 31.

TV creator and producer Brad Wright, whose credits include “Travelers” and several “Stargate” series, will get the Margaret Collier Award for his body of work.

And Entertainment One (eOne) will get the inaugural Industry Leadership Award.

Additional Special Award recipients will be announced on Feb. 7.
