By The Canadian press

Police say a man from Burlington has been charged with sexual assault in a case dating back to the mid- to late-2000s.

Hamilton police say the suspect was arrested on Friday and charged with sexual exploitation of a person with a disability and four counts of sexual assault.

They say the female victim, who was an adult at the time of the alleged incidents, met the suspect through their affiliation with a Christian Reformed Church in Burlington.

Police say Robert Luyk, 69, was in charge of youth groups and provided assistance to vulnerable people with the church from 1995 to 2010.

They say there could be more alleged victims, and they’re urging anyone with information to contact them.
