A 25-year-man from Whitby died Tuesday after a shooting inside a building in Scarborough.

Just after 3 p.m., police tweeted that they were responding to the Lawrence Avenue East and Andover Crescent area after reports of multiple shots fired.

A male was seen running from the scene and police say they discovered bullet holes in the wall of the building.

Police then located a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the stairwell of the building. He was found without vital signs and was pronounced dead on the scene. He has since been identified as Dean Howlett.

Another criminal act with an illegal weapon. You would have to be a complete idiot to think criminalizing legal gun owners and making changes to existing laws will fix this. Idiots like Mayor Tory.

i’m sure this murderer has a legally regd gun???? Legal gun owners are NOT the problem, it’s the Liberal bleeding heart justice system and Liberal/NDP politicians that are the problem! They want to treat murderers and criminals like snowflakes so the murderers are given a couple of years in Canada’s holiday inn justice system. Bring back the death penalty, and outlaw NDP/Liberal politicians!
