No injuries after vehicle struck by passenger train in Scarborough

By News Staff

A vehicle was struck by a passenger train near the Guildwood GO station on Sunday evening.

Police responded to the scene at Manse and Copperfield roads just after 7 p.m.

They say the two occupants in the vehicle got out before the train struck and were not injured.

The vehicle is still currently at the scene and officers are investigating how it ended up on the tracks.

Metrolinx says hourly train service will continue between Union and Guildwood stations, with a bus connection to Rouge Hill for those looking to continue on towards Oshawa.

Regular service is expected to resume by 10 p.m.
