Teenager seriously injured in North York shooting

Police say a male teenager has been taken to hospital after a shooting in North York on Tuesday night.

Police responded to a call for the sound of gunshots at around 9:40 p.m. in the Falstaff Avenue and Jane Street area.

When officers arrived, they found a male with gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was taken to hospital in serious, but non-life threatening condition. Shell casings were also found at the scene.

Police say the victim is in his late teens but they did not have an exact age.

No suspect description is available at this time.
