Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the City of Toronto, forecasting significant rainfall Saturday followed by brief snow Saturday evening.
Periods of rain will begin after midnight and continue Saturday, the statement says. Rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm are likely by Saturday evening when the rain is expected to change to snow. Toronto will see about two to four centimetres while Northern York and Durham regions could get three to eight centimetres of snow.
There is a change for localized ponding and slippery conditions on untreated roads.
Sunday is expected to be dry but you’ll still want to bundle up. The high is forecast at just 2 C, with a windchill of -6 C.
