19-year-old arrested in fatal PATH stabbing

By News Staff

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the stabbing death of a woman in the financial district area of Toronto’s PATH system on Wednesday.

Rae Cara Carrington was found with stab wounds in life-threatening condition in the food court at the concourse level of King and Bay Streets around 7 p.m. Paramedics attempted life-saving procedures at the scene but the 51-year-old woman was pronounced dead.

A witness told CityNews the suspect, who fled the scene on foot, had a long knife and the victim was behind the counter at one of the eateries.

On Friday, Southern Georgian Bay OPP arrested Duncan O’Neil Sinclair in the Midland area and charged him with first degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on the weekend.

Police said the stabbing was targeted but would not comment further on the possible relationship between Carrington and the suspect.

Sources confirm to 680 NEWS that Sinclair is the son of the murder victim.

The incident was not far from where Rosemarie Junor was fatally stabbed in 2015 by Rohinie Bisesar, who was found not criminally responsible for the attack last year.
