Combined tailgate planned for Raptors, Leafs games Tuesday

By News Staff

With both the Leafs and Raptors in the midst of simultaenous playoff battles, it can be difficult for Toronto sports fans to keep up with all the gripping action.

That won’t be the case at Maple Leaf Square on Tuesday night.

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) will host a combined tailgate that will feature the Raptors home game against the Orlando Magic on the big screen, while the Leafs do-or-die Game 7 clash with the Bruins will be aired on smaller screens in the Square.

Additional screens will also be brought in along Bremner Blvd., to accommodate the Leafs game.

With the Blue Jays also playing at Rogers Centre on Tuesday, Toronto Police have announced the following traffic restrictions and security enhancements to assure a safe experience for sports fans in what’s sure to be a wild atmosphere:

  • Road restrictions will include the closure of York Street between Lakeshore Blvd. and Front St., as well as the closure of Bremner Blvd. east of Grand Trunk. The other restrictions in the area, which have been in place since the baseball season and playoffs began, will continue to be in effect.
  • Drop off and pick up for accessibility access to the Scotiabank Arena will continue to be on Bay Street near gate 1.
  • Closures/restrictions in the area of the Scotiabank Arena will commence at 2:00 p.m., and remain in effect until the conclusion of both games. The restrictions around the Rogers Centre will commence at 5:00 p.m., and will also remain in effect until the conclusion of the game.
