Hamilton mobster Pat Musitano has reportedly been shot while sitting in his car outside a lawyer’s office in Mississauga.
Multiple reports say the reputed boss of Hamilton’s Musitano crime family was shot shortly after 7 a.m. in the Hurontario Street and Matheson Boulevard East area.
He was reportedly shot in the face.
Paramedics rushed him to a trauma centre in critical condition.
Peel police confirm the shooting was originally reported as a man found with life-threatening injuries in an industrial area of Mississauga, who was suffering from gunshot wounds.
“It sounds like it was just a random passerby [who] located this male … suffering from gunshot wounds and contacted police,” Const. Sarah Patten said.
Patten said the man had been shot multiple times.
However, police would not confirm the victim was Musitano.
This is not the first attempt on Musitano’s life and it comes just a day after the funeral for his uncle and former mobster Tony Musitano.
Musitano’s younger brother Angelo Musitano was also shot while sitting in a vehicle back in 2017 – he did not survive the shooting.
Earlier this year, 43-year-old Cece Luppino was found inside a home owned by his father Rocco — also a known mobster.
Hamilton police have said the surge in mafia-related violence may point to an underworld power struggle.
