Most actively traded companies on the TSX

Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (16,230.04, up 65.43 points).

Stornoway Diamond Corp. (TSX:SWY). Materials. Down 3.5 cents, or 63.64 per cent to two cents on 54.8 million shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Financials. Up 17 cents, or 0.74 per cent, to $23.26 on 11.1 million shares.

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Energy. Up 54 cents, or 1.08 per cent, to $50.35 on 9 million shares.

Aphria Inc. (TSX:APHA). Health care. Up $1.26, or 14.62 per cent, to $9.88 on 8 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Energy. Down 14 cents, or 1.73 per cent, to $7.94 on 7.4 million shares.

Glacier Media Inc. (TSX:GVC). Technology. Up one cent, or 1.67 per cent, to 61 cents on 6.5 million shares.

 

Companies reporting:

Torstar Corp. (TSX:TS.B). Up two cents or 2.6 per cent to 79 cents. Torstar Corp. says it will close its Hamilton printing and mailroom operations this summer and look at selling the property. The newspaper publisher says the printing work done at the facility will be transferred to TC Transcontinental Printing and other Torstar-owned facilities as well as other external printers. The decision will affect approximately 73 full-time and 105 part-time staff. Torstar expects to save approximately $4 million to $6 million annually once the change is fully implemented. It expects to record a roughly $6-million restructuring charge in connection with the closure.
