Man caught driving 155 km/h on Mississauga street

By News staff

Peel police nabbed a man driving 155 km/h in a 70 km/h zone on a street in Mississauga.

The 43-year-old man was clocked at that extreme speed at Bramalea and Derry roads on Sunday night.

Currently in Ontario, anyone caught driving more than 50 km/h above the speed limit will have their driver’s licence suspended and vehicle impounded for seven days.

If convicted, drivers can be fined between $2,000 and $10,000, and could also serve six months in jail, along with a longer licence suspension.
