All lanes have re-opened on the Toronto-bound QEW near the Burlington Skyway after an asphalt truck crashed into a light standard Friday.
Two lanes of the Fort Erie bound side of the QEW remain closed as crews continue to clean up the debris
OPP said the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle near Eastport Drive. The truck rode along the rails, shearing the fuel tank and causing it to leak onto the road.
At one point, a light standard was hanging precariously over the lanes of the highway, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.
Police said the driver suffered only minor injuries.
The crash caused massive traffic
delays in both directions.
All lanes re-opened on the TO-Bound QEW approaching the Burlington Skyway – heavy from approaching Fruitland.
