Lake Shore Blvd. reopens after flooding

By News Staff

A super-soaker ushered out spring and Environment Canada had a special weather statement in place for Toronto and the GTA for most of Thursday.

The alert ended around 9:30 p.m., but the slow moving round of heavy rain caused flooding in some parts of the area.

Lake Shore Boulevard was closed from Ontario Drive to Newfoundland Road in both directions due to flooding. It has since reopened.

Flooding was also likely along the 400 series highways.

The rain clears up by Friday morning with a warm weekend ahead to kick off summer.
