Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (16,312.22, down 59.06 points).

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Industrials. Unchanged at $2.25 on 8.2 million shares.

Element Fleet Management Corp. (TSX:EFN). Financials. Down 10 cents, or 1.03 per cent, to $9.61 on 6.8 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Energy. Up 29 cents, or 4.57 per cent, to $6.63 on 6.3 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Materials. Down 27 cents, or 1.28 per cent, to $20.81 on 6.1 million shares.

Crescent Point Energy Corp. (TSX:CPG). Energy. Up 23 cents, or 5.39 per cent, to $4.50 on 5.8 million shares.

Blackberry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Technology. Down 99 cents, or 9.09 per cent, to $9.90 on 5.4 million shares.

Companies in the news:

BlackBerry Ltd. — BlackBerry Ltd. and LG Electronics Inc. are expanding a partnership that they hope will give them a bigger role as technology suppliers to the world’s auto manufacturers. The South Korean electronics company said it will embed BlackBerry QNX software into a wide range of components. Blackberry revenues grew to US$247 million in it recent quarter as its net loss was cut almost in half to US$35 million.

Corus Entertainment Inc. (TSX:CJR.B). Down 24 cents, or 3.8 per cent to $6.02. Corus Entertainment had a $66.4-million net profit attributable to shareholders in its latest quarter, as an increase in television advertising helped to boost revenue. The owner of the Global television network, specialty TV channels and radio stations said the profit compared with a net loss of $935.9 million in the same quarter last year when the company took a $1.01 billion one-time charge.
