Man stabbed aboard Queen streetcar, suspect fled on bicycle

A man was stabbed aboard a TTC streetcar on Queen Street Sunday night.

Emergency crews responded to a call for the stabbing in the Queen and John Street area around 10:40 p.m.

Police said the victim was sitting on the streetcar when an unknown man, who was also on the streetcar, came up behind him and stabbed him multiple times.

The suspect then got off the streetcar and fled the scene on a bicycle.

Police said the victim had gotten off the streetcar but officers found him nearby suffering from stab wounds and bleeding heavily.

His injuries are considered serious but not life threatening.

Police said the attack was unprovoked.

The suspect is described as 20 to 30 years of age, wearing a grey hoodie with black trim at the elbows and wrists, black shorts, black shoes and a light grey backpack. The man also had a bike with a yellow water bottle.

He is wanted for aggravated assault.
