Good Samaritans attacked by driver after Hwy. 403 crash in Mississauga: police

Peel and provincial police are investigating a single-vehicle crash and attempted car-jacking on Highway 403 in Mississauga.
The OPP said police were called to the highway near Eglinton Avenue just before 3 a.m. on Friday after a car lost control and rolled over on the westbound express lanes.
Police said when other drivers pulled over to help, the male driver of the rolled over car attacked them and tried to steal their vehicles.
The OPP said he assaulted a male Uber driver and a female passenger who had fled from the Uber. They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The OPP said Peel police Tased the suspect. Police sources told 680 NEWS it took six police officers to restrain him.
The suspect was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. The OPP said he is expected to face several charges.
Police are investigating whether he was impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit has not yet invoked its mandate.
The westbound express lanes were closed at Eglinton but have since reopened.
