Man charged with attempted murder in stabbing at Beaches jazz StreetFest

A 19-year-old Toronto man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing during the Beaches jazz StreetFest.

Police were called to Queen Street East at Hammersmith Avenue just before 11 p.m. last Thursday.

Police said the victim was approached by a man who, unprovoked, started a physical fight.

The victim was stabbed during the altercation and later rushed to hospital with critical injuries.

On Tuesday, Michael Jobe, was arrested. He is also facing a charged of possession of a weapon and four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Jobe is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
