York police identify Markham restaurant homicide victim, release suspect photos

York Regional Police have identified the man who was killed last Thursday at a restaurant in Markham.

On Aug. 1 at around 11 p.m., police said they were called to a noodle bar at 5460 Highway 7 East.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a 39-year-old man fatally shot. Police have identified the victim but CityNews has chosen not to name him at the family’s request.

A woman was also found with gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital where she is listed as being in stable condition, police said.

Police have obtained images of the suspect, who was seen fleeing from the scene on a motorcycle.

The suspect is described as wearing a motorcycle helmet, a dark green jacket, dark pants and a backpack.

Police describe the suspect vehicle as a black and white sports bike, with blue or purple coloured headlights.
