4 men facing 34 charges after loaded handgun found in car at short term rental

Toronto police say four men are facing multiple charges after officers were called to a short term rental in Etobicoke on Saturday.

Police received a call around 7 a.m. about a number of intoxicated persons about to drive a vehicle on Burma Drive near the Queensway and Park Lawn Road.

Upon arrival officers found the vehicle and an investigation led to the recovery of a loaded handgun.

Pierre Barthold, 36 and Addul Abdulle, 23, both of Edmonton, Abdi Hussein, 22, of Mississauga, Edmonton and Saskatchewan and Faisal Fareed, 22, of Ottawa are facing a total of 34 charges between them.

They include:

– Possession of a loaded regulated firearm
– Occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm
– Possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding license and registration certificate
– Possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate
– Unlicensed person possessing a prohibited/restricted weapon
– Use/handle/store a firearm carelessly
– Possessing a restricted or prohibited weapon or prohibited device knowing no authority
– Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace

Abdi Hussein is also facing two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a judicial release and possession of a firearm while prohibited. Faisal Fareed is also facing charges for  possession of a firearm while prohibited.

They are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 12.
