Man charged with first-degree murder in wife's shooting death

Police say they have charged a 57-year-old man with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife in Burlington.

Halton Regional Police were called to a home on No. 2 Side Road between Cedar Springs Road and Guelph Line around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

A woman was found with traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A man was quickly taken into custody shortly after.

The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Laura Grant of Burlington and the accused is her husband, Kenneth Soederhuysen.

Investigators say the pair lived in the home together.
