The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) says it will provide free menstrual products to students in elementary and secondary schools.
Two of the school board’s trustees who put forward the motion say it passed unanimously at a meeting earlier this week.
Stephanie Donaldson says the board plans on partnering with other organizations to provide the products at no charge.
The TDSB is one of several school boards in Ontario that plan to provide period products to students starting in September.
The trustees say providing free pads and tampons in schools will address a lack of access to the products.
