Woman in custody in ‘targeted’ triple stabbing in Brampton

By News Staff

A woman is in custody after a “targeted” attack sent three people to hospital with stab wounds in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police say the incident occurred in an apartment above a business on Main Street near Queen Street West just before 11 a.m.

When they arrived, they discovered three people suffering from stab wounds.

A man and a woman were taken to a trauma centre, the woman suffering from life-threatening injuries while a man was listed in serious condition. Police later said the woman’s condition had been stabilized and she was no longer in life-threatening condition.

A third victim, a 45-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital in non-life threatening condition, but he has since been released.

A 34-year-old woman is in custody in what police say was a “targeted and isolated incident” and not a random attack.

Police would not specify what the relationship is between the victims and the suspect except to say that they were known to each other.

Police added that they were not looking for any other suspects in connection with this incident.
