Pedestrian critically injured after being struck by vehicle in Markham

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Markham.
Emergency crews were called to the scene near 16th Avenue and Bridle Walk around 9:30 a.m.
Police said the woman became stuck under a pick-up truck that hit her.
Paramedics and fire crews helped free the woman. Her injuries are considered to be life-threatening.
Police are now asking for help in identifying the victim. She is described as an Asian female, approximately 60 years old, and was wearing a white sunhat and a black jacket.
Eastbound 16th Avenue was closed for several hours while police investigated.
