Toronto police are searching for suspects after a 29-year-old man was shot outside an apartment complex in the city’s northwest end on Thursday morning.

Paramedics were called the scene on Harding Avenue, near Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West, just before 9:30 a.m.

Insp. Jim Gotell said the man was shot several times in the parking lot. He said his injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

Gotell said “two people were shooting” and the suspects were seen running in opposite directions.

He said police have video of the shooting and will be providing an update later in the day.

One of the bullets went through the window of a ground-floor apartment but no one was injured.

Two nearby schools were placed in hold and secure as a precaution but it has since been lifted.
