Burlington man has license suspended, faces hefty fine for street racing

By News Staff

A 25-year-old Burlington man has lost his license for at least a week after he was caught street racing.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the G2 driver was clocked going 199 km/h on the westbound QEW at Dorval Drive in Oakville around 2:30 a.m.

“Going double the speed limit is dangerous and completely unacceptable,” Schmidt tells 680 NEWS. “He has a week to think about this and what he wants to do when he finally does get his license back.”

Schmidt adds along with having his vehicle impounded the man also faces a penalty of up to $10,000.
