A 16-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Brampton.
A motorist found a female pedestrian laying in the eastbound lanes of Queen Street, east of Cherrycrest Drive and called emergency services just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
The girl was suffering from life-threatening injuries and was taken to a trauma centre. She later died of her injuries.
Investigators say she was struck by a vehicle which then fled the area without stopping to help her. No vehicle description has been released at this time.
The victim has been identified as Dianna Manan of Toronto.
Police are urging the driver of the vehicle to turn himself in. They are also appealing to anyone who travelled through the area around midnight or anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
