Crews battle house fire in Mississauga

Mississauga Fire crews are keeping an eye out for hotshots after a blaze at a home near the QEW and Mississauga Road.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a garage fire on Wednesday around 4:15 p.m. at Tecumseh Park Drive and Indian Road.
The fire quickly engulfed the adjoining home, sending thick smoke into the air that could be seen kilometres away. The majority of the fire has since been knocked down.
Police one person was home at the time of the fire, but was able to escape unharmed and neighbouring homes have been evacuated as a precaution.
The home had working smoke alarms and there’s no word yet on the cause of the blaze.
No other injuries have been reported.
