Toronto police charged one man with murder after a fatal shooting at a Toronto Community Housing complex last month.
On Dec. 29, police were called to the area of McCowan Road and Trudelle Street around 3 a.m. for reports of shots fired.
When they arrived at the scene, they found 26-year-old Koshin Yusuf with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the victim was approached by two people who fired multiple shots before fleeing the area.
Deputy police chief James Ramer said officers executed search warrants on Wednesday morning, where one person was taken into custody. Police also recovered a firearm.
Oday Bazuhair, 21, of Toronto has been charged with first-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
This was Toronto’s 76th homicide of 2019.
