Suspected case of coronavirus at St. Joe’s hospital confirmed to be influenza

St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto says they do not have a case of coronavirus after a photo spread online mentions one at the hospital.

The photo shows a screenshot of a 311 request, mentioning a report of coronavirus at St. Joe’s.

Hospital officials confirm there was a suspected case at the hospital Thursday, but the patient tested positive for the flu and was discharged.

Officials say hospital staff were ready to treat the patient and want to let the public know that there has been no confirmed case of coronavirus at the hospital.

There have been no cases of coronavirus reported in Canada as of Friday.
