Man dies after being struck by vehicle in Brampton

A man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton.

Peel police were called to the scene on Bovaird Drive near Brisdale Drive just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The 54-year-old man was taken to a trauma centre with vital signs absent. He later died in hospital.

Police say a 74-year-old man from Waterloo was behind the wheel of the vehicle involved and remained on scene.

He did not show sings of impairment and no charges have been laid at this time.

The major collisions bureau has taken over the investigation.

Note: An earlier version of this article said the deceased man was 51 years old. It has been changed to 54 after police issued a correction.
