A Canadian passenger aboard a Florida-bound cruise ship says he and his cohort still don’t know when they’ll get to come home.
Gary Lyon of Toronto says he and his wife have been on the Coral Princess since March 5.
He says the ship has been looking for a place to dock since March 13, but no country allowed it.
So far, operator Princess Cruises says 12 people on board have tested positive for COVID-19, while others are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
Lyon says he hopes American officials work out a similar deal to the one that allowed asymptomatic passengers aboard two other cruises — the MS Rotterdam and MS Zaandam — to disembark in Florida on Thursday.
But he says it’s still unclear when the ship will make it to Florida, because passengers have been told there’s been a delay that pushes back the previous estimate that they would reach shore on Saturday.
