A Peel Regional Police officer has been charged with sexual assault in connection with an incident that occurred when he was off-duty.
Peel police received a complaint in April this year with the allegation of a sexual assault against a five-year member of the police service.
After a two month investigation, Cst. Latshman Raghunath was charged with one count of sexual assault.
He is currently on suspension and will appear in a Brampton courtroom on July 6.
Once the criminal proceedings have ended, a Police Service Act investigation will follow.
