Woman killed, man injured in Brampton shooting

A woman was pronounced dead and a man was rushed to hospital after a shooting at a residence in Brampton.

Peel police were called to the area of Deerpark Crescent and Fairglen Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Both victims are in their 20s and were found inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

The female victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The man’s injuries are described as very serious.

Const. Kyle Villers said the two victims were believed to be in a relationship and the only people involved in the shooting. Police are not looking for any other suspects.

The man lives at the home with his family and the woman was visiting when the shooting took place. One of the man’s family member’s called police thereafter.

It is unclear if any of the injuries were self-inflicted, but the homicide unit is investigating.

All of Deerpark Crescent has been closed to traffic for the investigation.
