Woman suffers head injuries after being struck by vehicle in Scarborough

A 56-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough Friday morning.

Police were called to the Brimley Road and St. Clair Avenue area at around 6 a.m.

Investigators allege the victim was crossing St. Clair Avenue from the south to the northside, just east of Brimley Road, when she was struck by a car that was travelling eastbound.

The woman suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

The driver involved remained on the scene, police said.

Police said they continue to investigate the collision and ask anyone with information to contact Toronto Police Traffic Services. Tips can also be left anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
