Man who allegedly left syringes at schoolyard arrested

Toronto police say a man who allegedly left a package full of syringes outside Eglinton Junior Public School on Tuesday has been arrested.

Police were called to the school around 10 a.m. after members of a community safety team saw the man leave the package by the school before riding off on a dark-coloured bicycle.

On Wednesday at around 1:30 p.m. police made an arrest in the case.

Anthony Purchase, 44, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with mischief interfere with property and fail to comply with probation.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
