A man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 401, just west of Yonge Street in what police say might be case of road-rage.

Provincial police said they were called to the scene at around 6:45 p.m. Friday.

OPP said drivers were exchanging information in what appears to have been a possible collision when a 25-year-old man, who was walking eastbound on the westbound shoulder, was struck by a transport truck.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

Police are investigating to see if the collision is a possible road-rage incident.

The Special Investigations Unit has been notified because police were in the vicinity responding to a separate collision call at the time of the incident.
