Police believe same suspects involved in 2 murders on same day

Toronto police have released video of a vehicle of interest they believe may be tied to the shooting death of a 19-year-old Brampton man last month. Police say Jonathan Rodriguez-Sanchez was killed near Jane St. and Shoreham Dr. on September 27.

Toronto police believe the same suspects are responsible for two fatal shootings that took place on the same night in September.

On Sunday, September 27, police were called to 1 Shoreham Court near Jane Street and Steeles Avenue West for shots fired at around 8:40 p.m.

Witnesses told police they heard multiple shots and saw people running in the area.

A 19-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He was rushed to hospital, where he died on Wednesday, Oct 28.

The victim has since been identified as Jonathan Rodriguez-Sanchez of Brampton (pictured below).

Police released video of a suspect vehicle in the case.

In a release police said the same suspects in Rodriguez-Sanchez’s death are believed responsible for the shooting death of Josephate Tyran Martelly, 24, about an hour earlier that same night.

Martelly was found shot in the hallway of a building in the Kipling Avenue and Mount Olive Drive area at around 7:33 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

No suspect descriptions have been released.
