Man turns himself in after punching teacher in the face at King City school

Police in York Region have identified a 21-year-old man that entered King City Secondary School and punched a teacher in the face.

Officers said around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 10, the suspect gained entry to King City Secondary School, walked around the first floor, and eventually went upstairs to a classroom on the second floor.

Police said the suspect walked into a classroom and punched a teacher in the face. He then fled the school west on King Road.

The teacher, a 37-year-old man, suffered minor injuries as a result and police said there were no students in the school at the time of the incident.

 

On Friday, officers said the man turned himself in to police custody in Newmarket, Ont. He has been identified as 21-year-old Alexander Kehyeian of Richmond Hill, Ont.

Kehyeian faces several charges including assault, mischief and trespassing.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
