By News staff

A Toronto woman is facing numerous charges after police say they seized explosives, a handgun with ammunition, and drugs including fentanyl, cocaine and meth, from a Liberty Village apartment.

Police were initially called to the complex in the Wellington Street and Strachan Avenue area on Monday morning for an unrelated investigation.

During that probe, police said they made a discovery “of great concern” prompting the bomb squad and Toronto Fire to be summoned.

A search warrant was obtained and executed.

“It is alleged that 14 Division Major Crime Unit seized quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, a loaded Glock handgun with extra ammunition, as well as a quantity of explosives,” police said in a release Friday.

Talicia Bryan, 23, of Toronto, is facing a variety of drug and weapon charges, including 10 counts of possessing an explosive device.

“There is not believed to be any wider threat to the public and officers are treating this as an isolated incident. At this stage, investigators are not looking for any other suspects as part of the investigation,” police added.
