The Ontario government says they will be putting $3.7 million towards helping transport seniors and those with disabilities to COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

The announcement came ahead of the provincial budget being introduced on Wednesday.

Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said the initiative will begin as soon as possible, but did not give a specific date.

The government will work with local publics health units and communities to implement the transportation service. Details on how the program will work are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
