OPP SGT. Kerry Schmidt attended the scene and says the wheel is a summer tire.
He suspects it may have just been put on the vehicle and not properly installed.
“One of the issues we’re gonna be finding out is whether or not that wheel was recently installed’, Schmidt said in a video he posted to Twitter.
The victim says she is lucky to be alive, “I thank God that I’m alive today and I thank all the wonderful people that stopped immediately to give me some support and assistance.”
