The push to vaccinate younger people is materializing in York Region after it announced that people between the ages of 45 to 59 living in specified “hot spots” can soon begin booking vaccination appointments.

Starting Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. residents in that age bracket who live in the following postal codes, four in Vaughan and one in Markham, can begin booking appointments through york.ca/COVID19Vaccine or by calling Access York at 1-877-464-9675:

  • L4L
  • L6A
  • L4K
  • L4J
  • L3S

“These five initial communities are identified in alignment with provincial guidance and by using York Region data to consider factors such as prevalence of variant cases, COVID-19 incidence rates, hospitalizations, deaths and an internal equity framework based on the Ontario Marginalization Index,” the region said in a release.
