Toronto police confirm officers have shot a man who was allegedly wielding a knife near Moss Park on Tuesday morning.
Police said it happened just before 9 a.m. in the Shuter and Sherbourne streets area.
Officers were called to an apartment building in the area for a person in distress.
Police tell CityNews officers tried “every form of de-escalation” before the man was shot. He was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.
More than one officer is being evaluated at hospital due to psychological distress, police said.
