A 28-year-old man has serious but not life-threatening injuries after a drive-by shooting in south Etobicoke on Monday.
Police said they were called to Thirty Seventh Street, near Brown’s Line and Lake Shore Boulevard, around 8:30 a.m. for reports of multiple shots fired in the area.
“When [police] arrived on scene, they located a male victim … he was the lone occupant in the Hyundai,” Duty Insp. Michael Williams said
Shell casings were also found at the scene.
According to police, it appears to be a targeted shooting and that one vehicle was possibly following the other.
“It sounds like two vehicles had maybe seen each other and the suspect vehicle possibly followed our victim into this area and then the two cars came door to door over on Thirty Seventh Street and that’s when the shots were fired,” Williams said.
It appears a passenger in the suspect vehicle — a black hatchback with two people inside — opened fire from the passenger side window. The vehicle then fled the scene heading westbound.
