SIU investigating after woman falls to her death in North York

The province’s police watchdog is investigating after a 60-year-old woman fell to her death from a building in North York.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said Toronto police were called to the building on Yonge Street near Finch Avenue East around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, to check on the well-being of a woman.
When police arrived, they went to an apartment on the 8th floor and spoke with the woman, who then went to her bedroom to get a document.
The SIU said that as police waited, they were alerted that someone had fallen from the building. It was determined that the person who fell was the woman police were speaking to.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
