Two men are in hospital after a collision involving a stolen car and two tractor-trailers in Vaughan Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to New Huntington Road and Zenway Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. to reports of a crash.

According to police a Hyundai struck a transport truck which then struck another transport truck. That truck then hit a pole.

Police said it was later determined that the Hyundai had been stolen.

The driver of the car was rushed to hospital with live-threatening injuries. Police say they haven’t been able to identify the man but he is described as male, South Asian, in his 20s. Authorities are asking anyone who may know his identity to contact police.

The passenger in the Hyundai, a 24-year-old Brampton man, was also rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Police say his condition is now stable.

The two truck drivers were looked over by paramedics at the scene but suffered no injuries.

Police are asking anyone who may have dashcam footage of the crash or of the vehicle in the moments leading up to it, to contact investigators.

Zenway was closed for several hours while police investigated but has since reopened.
